happy waistline wednesday!
it’s that time of year again! $1 vanilla soft serve cones at mcdonalds! for 150 calories and nearly 5 grams of protein you can’t go wrong! if the temperature is above 70 degrees, chances are im walking around town with one of these in my hand.

this adorable photo was made possible with #abeautifulmess photo app. it’s pretty cute, and pretty cheap. i bought it. you probably will too.
happy monday munchies! panini: party of 2
last week i invited a new friend over for a panini party knowing that he had a love of pressed sandwiches (hey, who doesn’t?). it was just the two of us, so, “party” might be a bit of a stretch, but i love alliteration and we had a really good time, so a panini party it was. i set up all of the ingredients and sliced all of the bread in half so that we could hit the panini bar more than once (smaller sandwiches). i served them alongside some delicious side salads (which i will blog about next week) and made my cake batter truffles for dessert- which you need to make right now if you haven’t yet. here’s what i prepped for us:
toppings
shredded white meat chicken / crumbled sausage / diced pancetta / grilled onions, tomatoes & zucchini / sliced avocado
cheese:
cheddar gruyere blend / jalapeño pepper jack / quattro formaggio italian blend
condiments:
pesto / red pepper eggplant spread / black bean & corn salsa / sriracha
bread
trader joe’s tuscan pane.
after your sandwich is assembled, coat your panini press in olive oil (mine was infused with garlic!) and press until everything is melty, gooey and amazing. and was it ever.
pictured sandwich:
pancetta+shredded chicken+avocado+cheddar gruyere+grilled tomatoes+onions

ps. this blog will no longer be daily. after a year and a half of daily posts i have decided that my posts will be stronger if i don’t feel pressure to post every 24 hours. i will post frequently, and on all of the same topics that i have posted on in the past, but just not everyday. thanks!

happy waistline wednesday
there is something about a new purchase that excites you and makes you forget all of your problems. feel like your world is crashing and burning? i did and bought a new computer last spring (haha, really). going through a breakup? buy yourself some sexy shoes and prance around like no boy has ever done you wrong. a new bag is a wonderful thing. a home to all of your necessities, and a new accessory that you bring everywhere. this is a mental health tip from yours truly. in times of need, put it on plastic and forget it cost you any money. (just don’t tell thrifty thursday about this post! ;)

happy tutorial tuesday!
sometimes when i craft i wonder if i’ve taken it just one step too far. my intern was in my kitchen one day, looked around and said “you have so many things in here that make it look like you have WAY too much time on your hands…but you don’t!” i get it. my house is detailed. a quick glance looks great but it’s the little touches everywhere that you see when you look closer that make you really understand me.
i was shopping around on opensky and came across this product and thought, ‘wow, i can do that in 2 seconds.’ and i did (well, with the iphone shots it took about 5 mins).
measure the inside of your shelf and cut the shape out of a sturdy piece of moisture-wicking fabric. i used oilcloth, the same oilcloth that i made my tablecloth out of! lay in fridge and voila. i also measured and cut out a liner for my butter tray because why not? now, if you get a sticky drip, pull out the lining, wipe it clean and pop it back in. not only is it a cute touch to your fridge, but it’s a practical one at that!

happy monday munchies!
need a breakfast sandwich to get you going on a monday morning? this is it! healthy, filling & super delicious and this is how you make it.
toast 2 pieces of bread and smash an avocado
smear the avocado all over a slice of bread and top with a black bean and corn salsa (i use cowboy caviar by trader joes) top the other toast with some lettuce.
cook up 2 fried eggs and top with pepper jack cheese. assemble the sandwich and enjoy! this would be equally good as a panini (with more cheese!)

happy sunday style!
what i wore to my last day of selling (for now) at artists & fleas
my favorite [gap] stripe & polka dot cardigan, tied up with an [american apparel+diy] crop top underneath. the sassy side of my ruffled, reversible apron was tied on top of my american apparel, super high waisted “easy jean” and worn with my brand new bass, studded saddle shoes (not pictured). my necklace is actually by vera wang. my friend, kasia, got it for me as a gift a couple years ago. i love it. it was another lovely weekend of meeting people, making friends & selling goodies! thanks for stopping by!
