Tutorial Tuesday! Make your own fabric!
Do you have an image you love that you would love to have all over a dress? a quilt? curtains? You don’t have to have a degree in printmaking in order to design your own fabric. www.spoonflower.com has made it so easy to get your own fabric made with no minimum yardage to your order! upload your file to their website and they let you preview it with different “drops” and “repeats” (determining how your print is arranged on many yards of fabric). they have lots of fabric to choose from and will even send you a book of fabric swatches for $1 so you know exactly what you’re ordering!
the above image is a print that i am currently getting made so i can make lots of cute clothes for you to buy! the drawings are from a birthday card that my wonderful intern, Michaela Calotta made for me. i was so in love with the doodles that i decided it needed to be fabric! it couldn’t be more me!
xoxo, julie!
