tutorial tuesday! ruffle date banner!
i made this banner for a bridal shower. i am a bridesmaid in a wedding happening this august in CT. for the shower, i made a banner with the date of the shower on each triangle of the banner. if you don’t have a number or letter punch you can print out large letters right from your computer (type the ones you need on word) and cut them out to make your own stencils and cut out whatever letter you want on whatever paper you want. glue them to triangles that you cut out. cut perfect triangles by drawing a straight line down and a perpendicular one across. measure out an even amount on either side of the horizontal line and connect to the same point down the vertical line.
you can find sew on trim at any craft, trim or sewing supply store. this was great because i could sandwich the triangles of the banner right in it and i sewed right through the paper to attach everything together. i thought this was cuter than stringing it to regular ribbon. don’t worry about hemming the trim or making it super cute, knot the ends and cut the frayed pieces right off. use for not only weddings, but birthdays and every celebration you can think of! woo hoo!
